Carlos Cordeiro, PhD (co-founder, CEO)

Carlos is from Portugal and has a background in biotechnology and biochemistry. He has about 15 years of experience in (bio)sensor development and application (including in vivo). He also has extensive experience as a researcher and project manager in industrial settings, as well as in large-scale academic consortia. Carlos participated in the one-year VentureLab North business development program at the University of Groningen. After working as a scientist and trial manager for a clinical research organization since 2008, Carlos founded ParaMedir with Pieter Oomen in the summer of 2018.

Pieter Oomen, PhD (co-founder, CSO/CTO)

Pieter is Dutch and has a background in analytical chemistry and pharmacy. He has been working on sensors for bioanalytical purposes for more than 10 years. Since 2012 he has been focusing his research on the development of microfluidic devices and the integration of sensors therein. After working as a researcher in both academic and industrial settings, he is currently a Marie Skłodowska-Curie postdoctoral fellow at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.

Jasper Dijkstra, MSc (business director)

Jasper is Dutch, and a dedicated business development professional in life sciences and medical devices. After obtaining his degree in medical biology he started working as a technology transfer officer and director of business development in two life science companies. In his current position at Bio-ITech, a life science IT company, Jasper is responsible for the marketing and sales, as well as the corporate business development. He joined ParaMedir in 2019, after successful mentoring of the ParaMedir team as business coach within the VentureLab North Program.
